Our Approach

For over two decades we’ve championed an exhilarating approach to theatre school education
in the theatrical arts for young people aged 6-18.
We teach our children how to Dance, Act and Sing in performing arts classes at
The Centerpiece Church
Our theatre school brings out the best in students, builds confidence, and gives aspiring young actors opportunities of a lifetime via our large scale London shows and our smaller local shows each year.
We accept students from areas around Ashford and  surrounding areas.
No auditions are necessary as we teach them everything they need to know!

Alice Gouldsworthy - Dance Teacher

I attended dance classes from a young age and when I turned 13 I joined Theatretrain as a student. This ignited my passion for Musical Theatre and performing. Later I joined the TT Academy and was cast in a production of ‘A Midsummer Nights Dream’ directed by Kevin Dowsett and performed in the Czech Republic and London. After completing my A-Levels I studied at ‘Creative Academy’, Slough where I achieved a Degree in Dance. I trained in a wide variety of dance and performance techniques including; Anatomy, Ballet, Tap and Theatre in Education. I particularly enjoyed working with professional Contemporary and Commercial Dance Companies and performing in a number of productions in London and the South East. After completing my training I returned to live in Kent and re-joined Theatretrain, this time as a Teacher! I currently teach in two Theatretrain Centres and is Studio Manager for Liv2Dance Dance Studio.

Alice Waters - Drama Teacher

Theatretrain has been a big part of my life for many years. I joined Maidstone as a student when I was thirteen and it confirmed my love for Drama! Theatretrain set me up for a career in the Performing Arts and provided me with my first experience of performing on a London stage. Following my time with Theatretrain as a student, I achieved an Extended Diploma in Performing Arts and successfully auditioned for the National Youth Theatre, where I performed in ‘Watch This Space’. Following my training for the stage I completed a course in Acting for the Screen with MN Academy in London and I am currently studying for my BA HONS in Theatre and Drama at The University of Kent. During my career so far, I have played a variety of roles in both theatre and film. Highlights include; Canterbury Shakespeare Festival, The Marlowe Theatre’s Return of the Unknown (2017 & 2018), Carphone Warehouse Advert, Summer of Rockets and Into the Woods (Film). I have been teaching for 5 years now, not just at Theatretrain, but at a variety of stage schools. I have directed multiple plays with Theatrtrain including; ‘Romeo & Juliet’ for the Shakespeare Schools Festival and ‘Eclipse’ for the National Theatre’s Connections 500 Festival. Both a great achievement for all involved. I am honoured to have been part of Theatretrain Maidstone over the last eleven years and especially loved their ten-year anniversary celebration performance. I look forward to many more years ahead!
