Last Saturday all 68 Theatretrain Centres around the UK took part in a Danceathon to raise money for Theodora Children’s Charity.
Theodora Children’s Charity is an organisation that provides “Giggle doctors” to visit poorly children who may be facing prolonged stays in hospitals such as Great Ormond Street and Alder Hay. Over 25 Giggle Doctors visit 33,000 children across the UK in 21 hospitals, 3 hospices and 2 care homes every year and with the support of Theatretrain hope to increase the number of visits to 42,000.
We had 3 Danceathon slots, one for Friday evening Centres, one for Saturday morning Centres and one for Saturday afternoon Centres. During these times all students danced for 30mins continuously. You may have seen some of the videos on Facebook!
Huge Thanks go to Sara Shepherd and Mark Everard for organising the event and also huge thanks to Olly Murs for allowing us to stream ‘Dance With Me Tonight’ and Becks at Sony Music for helping us try to get permission to stream music and so much more.
Here are just a few photos from the weekend!
