It’s a Theatretrain Day!

When you were young you may have had a favourite comic. You got to know the characters and there were different stories to follow with other goodies too – features, interviews, quizzes. Do you remember the feeling as you picked it up from the doormat or from the newsagent? It was special and, in your excitement, you may even have wanted to delay that moment of opening it up and starting. Then when it was read you had to wait a whole week for the next one.

They get such a buzz from it that they look forward to it.”

I like to think that Theatretrain is like that for our younger students. They get such a buzz from it and look forward to it. When the day arrives, they are off to meet all the other characters and join in with all the other stories they find in acting, dancing, and singing.

There’s no doubt about it; you can totally immerse yourself in a class and for a few hours forget the rest of your life.

For the older students, I’ve met many ex-pupils who tell me that they found their teenage years difficult but Theatretrain was like an oasis in their week. They also speak of that same excitement of living for that day, like the comic, to come round each week. Some say it was time out for them from other things that were going on. There’s no doubt about it; you can totally immerse yourself in a class and for a few hours forget the rest of your life. If you have problems you want to escape from then the theatre space takes you to a different place.

That level of excitement also comes in the run up to a show. The weeks roll past and before you know it it’s the big day. Show day rushes by with so many things to do until suddenly you are standing by to step onto that stage and begin.

We have waited a long time for classes to resume but now it has started there will be the characters and the stories to return to in a place that is safe and happy. Go for it and love every minute!

We are thrilled to be back to face-to-face classes at most of our Theatretrain Centres around the UK. Our professional classes in acting, singing & dancing provide a safe space for kids to express themselves in a safe and friendly space.
