Theatretrain Waltham Forest Performs in Local Production of Barnum

Theatretrain Waltham Forest Students and staff have recently been involved with a production of ‘Barnum’

’Barnum’ was produced by ‘Forest Musical Theatre Company,’ and was directed by Owen Smith – Theatretrain Waltham Forest dance teacher. Five Theatretrain Waltham Forest students were involved with Barnum after an open audition. Winona Khan (Theatretrain Waltham Forest singing teacher) played the lead part ‘P T Barnum’ and also Gemma Eves – Centre Director of Theatretrain Waltham Forest and Dominique Pharoah – Centre Director of Theatretrain Ilford.

It was a 8 week rehearsal period and a week run at the Kenneth More Theatre. It was a wonderful show, and a lovely experience to share the stage with our own students, working as a professional company.

‘Barnum was an amazing show to be part of and my first show with Forest Musical Theatre Company. It was a great opportunity to learn from the experienced cast members. Barnum was a real show stopper with super music, dance routines and theatre performances. All the hard work at rehearsals paid off, I learned lots of new skills and made great friends..can’t wait for the next one !’
