Singing – Cate Mellor
Cate has been singing professionally for nearly 20 years and has much experience appearing in all manner of venues from The Swan Theatre, Stratford to Coombe Abbey performing all manner of different genres of music. In 2002 she teamed up with, now husband, Paul performing all over the Midlands with Cabarets, Recitals and Concerts. She is principal recording artist for Kevin Duncan at Ginger Dog Records and has recorded countless albums and educational books for Kevin Mayhew Publishing. Last November she and husband Paul released their first solo album – By Request. Cate most recently co-ordinated and performed in the highly acclaimed YOG Reunion. In 2017 Cate was one of the founder members of a production company who successfully put together a sell out run of Into The Woods at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry. Cate is immeasurably proud of all the pupils for their hard work and dedication.
Dance – Katie Gavin
Katie trained at Pattisons Theatre Arts gaining qualifications with the International Dance Teachers Association (I.D.T.A.). Katie has been teaching, performing and choreographing ever since.
Katie spent a number of years after College travelling and entertaining professionally overseas. Since returning to her home town of Coventry Katie has opened her own dance studio KT School of Dance. She has performed in many Theatre Shows and Choreographed many productions for local theatre shows and professionally for Imagine Theatre. Katie is proud of all the pupils for their hard work and commitment and looks forward to seeing them all on stage.
Drama – Steve Cowley
Having graduated what seems like a lifetime ago, Steve has enjoyed working as an Actor, Director, Teacher and Workshop Leader ever since.
He is currently doing work with different schools and colleges.
Steve has also been fortunate enough to tour with a number of plays recently, but in particular a brand new play “To Sleep” which he performed in Australia in January and which has now just been published.
Creating the drama pieces for any Theatretrain show is always a pleasure, but the pieces you will see tonight are some of his favourites. Every student brings their own unique ideas and creativity to each piece, which is ultimately why these drama pieces come straight from the students themselves.
