Lauren Tyrrell - Drama Teacher
I’m Lauren and I’m the drama teacher for MK Friday! I’ve been performing since I was 7, when I first started Theatretrain myself - all those years ago! Did my fair share of both London and local shows, loving all the friends I made and all the skills I learnt. I always wanted to be a dancer, but eventually studied theatre and performance in both sixth form and university, where I found a passion for drama. I’ve been teaching at theatretrain since 2011, where I’ve taught both singing and drama classes. I love teaching all students, and also love learning from them. It’s one of the best feelings to have a shy student enter the 6-9s group, and leave in the 13-18s as a confident performer - with a new found love of the arts, making lifelong friends and starting their own journey into performance! :)
Owen Malone - Dance Teacher
I’ve been dancing for 10 years, had training from numerous teachers from the performing arts world in a variety of styles. I’ve also performed in front of the mayor of Milton Keynes, and had training from the UK’s leading street dance group ‘Diversity’. I’ve been teaching for 5 years, which has allowed me to do some crazy things. Ive taught my own street dance group which has travelled around plenty of different venues in Milton Keynes. I’ve had my choreography in the sold out arena ‘The Venue’ twice and ‘The Royal Albert Hall’.
Kelly - Centre Manager
Kelly was initially involved with Theatretrain to help cover the Centre Manager role as maternity cover and has been with us ever since. She is the backbone of our school. Kelly is always there to help support whatever is needed for the children and teachers during classes and to try and answer any questions that may be thrown at her by students and parents alike.
Sophie - Singing Teacher
Sophie is the singing teacher for Theatretrain MK teaching both Friday and Saturday classes. Sophie has been teaching for for us for over 5 years and loves nothing more than seeing the children progress through the age groups and grow in confidence. she has taught 2 of the Royal Albert Hall shows and 2 local shows in Milton Keynes. She has been trained in performance since the age of 5 years old. Starting with dance where she competed nationally until I was 14 years old enjoying performances in many of London’s Theatres such as the London palladium and the Royal Albert Hall. she then moved into musical theatre where she found a love for all things performing. Sophie believes that singing is far more than technique and hitting the right notes. Singing is just as much about drama, performing and connecting to the music. Theatretrain provides amazing opportunities and safe and nurturing environment for every student to progress in every area of performance.
