James Percy - Centre Director
James was born and raised in Doncaster, but spent much of his childhood with his extended family in Portsmouth, where he now lives. Following a Law Degree at The University of Liverpool, he trained classically as an Actor at Birmingham School of Acting and has since worked internationally as an Actor and Comedian. He recently returned from performing a Las Vegas Residency of the two-man Harry Potter show, Potted Potter, for which he received the Best New Act of Las Vegas Award. He also starred in the World Tour of this Olivier Award-nominated show, which has included performing Broadway seasons in New York, Chicago, LA and tours of Australia, Asia, Canada and the USA. James regularly performs in productions ranging from musical theatre to comedy, pantomime to Shakespeare and was the youngest actor to play the role of Wilbur Turnblad, in Hairspray: The Broadway Musical (USA). Other theatre credits include: The Reduced Shakespeare Company (UK Tour), Julius Caesar (UK Tour), Beauty & The Beast (International), The Importance Of Being Earnest (Derby), Ladies in Retirement, Carmilla, Design For Murder (UK Rep Tours), Alice in Wonderland (International), Snow White (Doncaster), Sleeping Beauty (Wimborne), Peter Pan (Chesterfield), Edward VIII, St. Trinians: The Musical (London), The Memory Of Water (Birmingham) and Iago in Othello (Birmingham). He can also be seen playing Elvis in a TV commercial for Virgin Media. As a Comedian, James appeared in the American comedy improv show Throw Me A Line, and was the Resident Comedian on the world’s largest cruise ship, Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of The Seas.
Chloe Over -Dance
Chloe was born in Portsmouth and has been dancing since the age of 4. She trained for three years at Laine Theatre Arts and graduated in 2013 with a National Diploma in dance and Ballet ISTD teacher training. She has done three cruise contacts with Headliners Theatre Company, preforming on P&O Aurora, Azura and Ventura. Performing in various shows including ‘Astonishing’ A magic and illusion show produced by presenter and entertainer Stephen Mulhern and performer Jonathan Wilkes. Other work since graduating includes dancing on Costa Cruises and for Vegas Showgirls in Germany. The Alternative Hair Show, ‘Royal Albert Hall’ as a dancer/model and she has performed as a showgirl dancer in ‘A Night with Hugh Jackman’. She has also appeared in the Clippers tea advert and danced for Olly Murs at the Brit Awards 2012 at the O2 Arena London. Chloe teaches in and around the local area throughout the week and loves to bring energy and fun to every class. She is very excited to be teaching for TheatreTrain Portsmouth and looks forward to meeting everyone.
Rosie Kingston - Acting
Rosie grew up in the heart of Portsmouth, and found her love for performing at a very young age. She attended Marie Clarke’s school of dance where she was given so many performing opportunities as a kid, including being in the local pantomime every year. After growing up surrounded by dancing, singing and acting Rosie went on to train professionally in Essex at Masters Performing Arts, and then at the International School of Screen Acting in London. Within training Rosie found her biggest passion was in acting, and made this her main focus and drive for her career. Since graduating, Rosies had various jobs which include playing the role of Claudine in an upcoming feature film called ‘I Scream On The Beach’, Sophie in a TV comedy series named ‘Adam and Steve’, Emily in an online interactive series named ‘Trylife’, and a leading role in Pantomime every year at the Bocking Arts Theatre in Braintree, Essex.
Summa Lucy - Singing
Summa Lucy has trained in performing arts for 7 years! Gaining her BA Honours Degree in Musical Theatre at The London College of Music, Summa has a wide set of skills in Acting, Singing and Dancing and has performed in many institutional productions including; Legally Blonde, West Side Story, Miss Hannigan in Annie The Musical and she took the lead role of Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes. She has also performed on the West End stage at Trafalgar Studios where she was signed by her agent, AKM Talent Management. Summa has recently been involved in the Anne’s Song workshop with Baroque Theatre Company. A strong soprano with a pop belt, Summa’s sound, characterisation, and performance skills are unstoppable.
Charlene Murray - Minis
Charlene is delighted to be part of Theatretrain alongside a very experienced team. Coming from a very theatrical family, she started dancing at the age of 2 at Jean Mark's School of Dance. She successfully auditioned for Pantomime at the age of 3, appearing alongside Lionel Blair in Dick Whittington at Chichester Festival Theatre. At the age of of 6 she started drama lessons, which looking back was the most incredible experience and proved to be invaluable. At 15 she was successful in joining the National Youth Music Theatre's production of 'Bugsy Malone', at the Queens Theatre in London's West End as 'Bangles' and understudying Sheridan Smith as 'Tallulah'. Since then her love of performing has continued and Charlene has enjoyed many leading roles with The Portsmouth Players. Some favourites include Annie Oakley 'Annie Get Your Gun', Peggy Sawyer '42nd Street', Ado Annie 'Oklahoma' Kate McGowan 'Titanic' and Rizzo in 'Grease' for which she was awarded the Daily Echo award for 'Best Supporting Actress in a Musical'. Charlene cant wait to be involved with the company and looks forward to working with the 'Minis' and starting them on an exciting journey.
