TT Main School (6-18yrs) 10:15am-1:15pm
We have 3 age groups: 6-9, 10-12 and 13-18 and each group works with experienced professionals for 1 hour of Dance, Drama and Singing.
Sessions are £19 for 3 hours. Our sibling rate is £9 for 3 hours (That’s just £28 for 2 students!)
When a student takes Advanced classes alongside our Main school, we offer two class and three class concessions.
We also offer a few bursary places each year.
We are a warm performing arts school where each individual is recognised and embraced in an ensemble environment. We help each student to grow creatively, make friends and build their confidence.
We create amazing opportunities for our stage school students to perform on stage in local, regional and world famous West End venues.
All students have the chance to perform every year.
TT Minis CLASS 1 (4-6yrs) 9am-10:30am
TT Minis CLASS 2 (4-6 yrs) 10:45am-12:15pm
Our Theatretrain Minis class is the perfect introduction to performing arts training. Our young students work with two engaging professionals for 30 minutes of Dance, Drama and Singing which mirrors the training structure of our main school.
Sessions are £8.50 for 1 1/2 hours. Our sibling rate is £6 (That’s just £14.50 for 2 students!)
We create a safe and fun environment to inspire our young students and help them to build their confidence and performance skills.
Theatretrain is the Company that Loves to Perform and we offer several opportunities for our TT Minis to perform locally.
TT Advanced Drama (12-18yrs) 9am-10:15am
Advanced Drama trains students using varied practitioners to develop acting skills transferable to both devised and scripted work. Advanced Drama students form a Company each year and the aim is for them to perform locally, in the UK and abroad – this class is ideal for young people with experience and a passion for performing. Advanced Drama students performed the play ‘It Snows’ by Bryony Lavery and Frantic Assembly as part of the National Theatre Connections 2016. This class is currently developing a new adaptation of Alice in Wonderland which will be performed at the famous Edinburgh Festival 2018.
Sessions are £11 (£8 for students taking main school classes)
TT Advanced Dance (12-18yrs) 1:30pm-3pm
Advanced Dance offers Commercial, Street, Jazz dance training for young people with dance experience. Students will develop technique to a high level as classes cover exercises and technique from the ISTD Modern/Jazz syllabus. There will be many additional opportunities to perform. Advanced Dance students performed the play ‘It Snows’ by Bryony Lavery and Frantic Assembly as part of the National Theatre Connections 2016 and regularly perform at special events.

For over two decades we’ve championed an exhilarating approach to theatre school education
in the theatrical arts for young people aged 4-18.
We teach our children how to Dance, Act and Sing in performing arts classes at
Our Stage school brings out the best in students, builds confidence, and gives aspiring young actors opportunities of a lifetime via our large scale London shows and our smaller local shows each year.
Our students also train with top professionals in Masterclasses throughout the year. This has included West End leading Actors, Directors and Choreographers from hit shows: Matilda, Thriller Live, Lion King, Wicked, Billy Elliot, Shrek, Fela and many more; songwriters and vocal coaches including Denise Pearson and Little Mix vocal coach Maegan Cottone; dancers who have performed with Michael Jackson and so much more!
We accept students from areas around Reading including: Caversham, Tilehurst, Purley, Calcot, Woodley, Whitley, Shinfield, Earley, Henley-on-Thames, Sonning, Shiplake, Emmer Green, Kidmore End, Theale, Wokingham and surrounding areas.
No auditions are necessary as we teach them everything they need to know!
Theatretrain Reading is led by an excellent team of professionals. We have many years of professional performance training and experience and it is our passion to develop, challenge and inspire every young person that we are privileged to work alongside.
Theatretrain Reading has been run by Centre Director, Tiffany King for the past 8 years. ‘It is so important for me that we continue to create a wonderful fun and family supportive environment at Theatretrain Reading. It is within this environment that we can really stretch and challenge each student artistically and develop their confidence. I am so passionate to see each student succeed and it is my focus to ensure I continue to offer exceptional training and performance opportunities each year.’
Drama is led by Tiffany King, a seasoned professional having performed in numerous
productions including: the UK tour of the Jungle Book, a Director/Choreographer
for the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, LAMDA Acting coach, Modern/Jazz dance
teacher and former Head of Dramatic Arts at St. Joseph’s College.
TIFFANY WAS INVITED TO BUCKINGHAM PALACE IN 2011 IN A RECEPTION GIVEN BY THE QUEEN AND DUKE OF EDINBURGH FOR HER ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE PERFORMING ARTS. For the past three years, she has judged ‘Has Reading Got Talent?’ with the Broad Street Mall, Reading and at the Hexagon Theatre. Tiffany has recently returned from directing an international Theatre
Project in Switzerland working with young performers 15-18 years who were
chosen by their country to participate (EDERED Summer 2015).
Dance is led by Marley Seville, an accomplished dancer in his own right and a energetic and passionate dance teacher with many years experience under his belt.
Rowan Isley teaches Dance and our Theatretrain Minis classes. Rowan is currently furthering his experience of professional dance training alongside developing his choreographic portfolio. Rowan offers his skills to our youngest students and hopes to inspire them all through his teaching.
Ashten York completes the Theatretrain artistic line-up as our singing coach. Ashten trained at GSA and is eager to pass on her knowledge to young students, offering them vocal confidence and challenging all aspects of their vocal performance.
Our visiting artistic team of professionals include: Shekinah McFarlane, Charlotte Steen and Christopher Tendai.
Shekinah has acheived many exceptional performances including: the ‘Sour Kangaroo’ in Seussical, Godspell in Concert soloist ‘Be by my Side’ and u/s Shenzi in the Lion King. Shekinah is currently performing in the touring UK production of Tommy.
Charlotte Steen has performed in a vast number of West End Musicals and is currently performing in 42nd Street at The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.
Sarah Hunt is our Centre Assistant and First Aider. Sarah is the point of contact for all Threatrtrain enquires during Saturday sessions. Sarah has two children, she is warm, friendly and has over Ten years’ experience working with Children and Young People. Sarah was a Deputy Manager at Woodley Pre-School where she was also the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), she is level 3 qualified in Child Care, level 2 qualified in Safeguarding Children, Behavioural Management and Conflict Resolution in Children and Adults as well as level 2 qualified Paediatric First Aider.
