Geraldine Hyman - Centre Director/Singing Teacher
Geraldine has a BA(Hons) in Popular Music and Technology and while at university she specialised in singing. From there she went on to teach both privately and with Theatretrain for over 5 years before becoming Centre Director of Theatretrain Camden in 2009 and took over Theatretrain Hitchin in 2016 and opened Theatretrain Stevenage in 2018. During this time she has lead her students in 7 local shows and 6 large scale shows.
Robert Hyman - Centre Director
Robert has worked with Theatretrain for over 20 years as the Musical Director. He has co-created all Theatretrain’s large scale productions. He is a Conductor, Composer and Arranger of note with over thirty scores to his credit. Other credits include: ‘The Big Life’ at the Apollo, Shaftesbury Avenue ‘Reasons to Be Cheerful’ (performed at the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Opening ceremony 2012) and ‘Come Dancing’, (written by and starring former Kinks front-man Ray Davies).
Nisha Vyas-Myall - Dance Teacher
Nisha has trained for 15 years with a range of theatre and dance groups, having studied street dance, contemporary, ballet, musical theatre and drama. She holds a BA (hons) degree in Performing Arts from University of Bedfordshire and the Diploma in Dance Teaching and Learning from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. Her performance credits include the West End, Cultural Olympiad and various television appearances, and she has been teaching dance for over 9 years
Helen Jewitt - Drama Teacher
Helen has always been a passionate performer, from dance classes as a small child to achieving First Class Honours in her Performing Arts & Theatre Degree she loves to entertain. Helen has performed at many local venues as a singer and dancer but her favourite discipline and first love is acting. Helen’s ‘day job’ has always been in education and she is a qualified Primary School Teacher with 14 years experience. Consistently graded as Outstanding by Ofsted in the Early Years, Key Stage One and Key Stage Two, Helen has developed her role to specialise in working with vulnerable children including those with Special Needs and those that are Highly Able. Helen worked for many years with a local drama school and after a break since it closed it’s doors in 2009 is very much looking forward to starting her journey with Theatretrain.
Emma Nicole - Teaching assistant
Emma attended Theatretrain from a young age where she took part in the London and local shows. She studied music at GCSE's and had singing lessons where she completed exams through Trinity and Rockschool. Emma completed a two-year Diploma at Hertfordshire College of Music on the Music Performance course. During this time she also gigged around the local area. To further her studies she is now in her final year at BIMM London studying Popular Music Performance (BMus) specializing in vocals.
