All of our sessions at Theatretrain Gloucester are led by professionals in an inclusive, group-based environment. We want your child to have FUN while they learn from some of the best in the industry, immersed in an impressive and enjoyable performance programme.
Theatretrain Gloucester Sessions
Our weekly sessions take place at The University of Gloucestershire, Oxstalls Campus, covering the 3 main principles of performance – acting, singing and dancing.
Main Company

- Performers are divided into the following age groups: 6-9-year-olds, 9-12-year-olds, and 13-18-year-olds.
These sessions bring students together in their age groups to learn ensemble songs, work on their acting skills and dance their socks off! They become rehearsals for a performance as the year progresses, and all students have the chance to perform each and every year.
Junior Company: Minis

Every dream starts somewhere… In these 90-minute sessions our young performers cover all three disciplines and learn the basic skills of imagination and stagecraft. Most importantly, we make sure everyone feels comfortable, creating a vibrant atmosphere to learn in!
Mid Week Musical Theatre

In our midweek Musical Theatre classes, young performers enjoy 90-minute sessions exploring singing, dancing and acting while building confidence, creativity and core stage skills. With a strong focus on imagination and stagecraft, we create a welcoming, high-energy environment where everyone feels supported, included and excited to learn.

Join Theatretrain Gloucester for a spooktacular Halloween workshop full of singing, dancing, acting and Halloween fun!
With two separate sessions tailored to each age group, there’s something for both our little performers and our older musical theatre lovers:
Minis (ages 4–5): A 90-minute workshop filled with imaginative play, music, movement and spooky fun.
Main Company (ages 6–18): A three-hour workshop exploring Halloween-inspired songs, dance and drama.
Our workshops are open to both current students and children who are new to Theatretrain. No previous experience is needed — just enthusiasm and a willingness to join in!

Join Theatretrain Gloucester for a Disney’s Descendants-themed workshop packed with singing, dancing and acting inspired by the world of Descendants!
Designed for children aged 6–12, this 90-minute workshop is a chance to explore their creativity, meet new friends and unleash their inner performer.
New students are welcome, and no previous experience is needed — just enthusiasm and a willingness to join in!

Dance
Our professional choreographers instruct young people in a huge range of dance styles and techniques, letting them collaborate as a group and find the power of movement.
Act
We empower your child to express themselves without judgement, encouraging them to take on characters, tell creative stories and follow their passion for acting.
Sing
We encourage all our students to build their confidence through song, embracing technical and real-world techniques used by singing professionals.

We organise large-scale performances, and each year our students have the chance to take part in exciting shows and events, making memories and developing skills that will last a lifetime. Our big performances have taken place in stunning venues like the Royal Albert Hall and West End theatres.

What Sessions Do You Offer At Theatretrain Gloucester?
Our sessions cover acting, dancing and singing. All our performers learn to use techniques that cover space, storytelling, sound and movement and what we call attitude – the feelings behind their performance.
What is the age range for Theatretrain?
At our main company, sessions are offered to 6-18 year-olds, divided into age groups: 6-9 years, 9-12 years and 13-18 years.
We also offer Junior Company, with TT Minis sessions for 4-5-year-olds
Do you have to audition to join Theatretrain?
No, we don’t require you to audition for your place at Theatretrain. We don’t judge the people who want to join us, and we’re confident our students will quickly get in the swing of the Theatretrain Way.
What Days And Times Are Sessions?
Our main sessions are on Saturdays from 10:00-13:00
We also offer Junior Company: TT Minis sessions, which take place on Saturdays from 11:30-13:00
How much do Theatretrain sessions cost?
Our Main Company session costs £83 per month
